| On May 12th and 13th, 2007, the Exeter Fury played a marathon soccer game vs the Stratford Enterprise in hopes of breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest continuous soccer match. They began at 7:00am on the 12th and played throughout the night, even when temperatures hit +1 degree. The game eventually finished at 1:30pm on the 13th, 30 hours and 30 minutes after it began. They played for 20 minutes longer than the existing record, with Stratford coming out on top. Guinness, however, would not recognize their mark due to technicalities. A total of $13,000 was raised and was split between Huron County Crime Stoppers and Perth County Crime Stoppers. | |
